A Mini Session is a smaller, more affordable version of a photography experience. These sessions are booked in groupings, allowing families to shoot one after another in a shorter time frame without the price tag associated with a full session. Families share a themed set and can update their family photos easily within only 15-20 minutes.
These Mini Sessions are perfect for families with young children who may not be able to sit for extended periods of time, or for those on a budget!
Note that Mini Sessions are pre-scheduled and are on a first-come, first-serve basis. Mini Sessions will always have a rain date. Themes for Mini Sessions will vary by season.
When the two of us aren't enough, we have an amazing network of second photographers that have experience working with us that we love to partner with! Feel free to consult us if you are thinking about adding another vantage point to your session or event.
The best part of our studio is the fact that we work so well as an internal team. With years of experience, our husband and wife team has fluidly learned how to work together to best capture your memories. Sometimes however it is requested that we partner with an outside team member.
The most common example of a request to work with another photographer we see is at a wedding, and the request typically is to allow a family member or new photographer to practice with the event. While we completely understand the need to practice to build a portfolio or the desire for a family/loved one to bring that camera they are so fond and attached to- we don't recommend it.
Our studio is hired to do what we do best, and capture your big day! Allowing outside photographers or videographers who have never partnered with our studio before restricts us from doing what we do best. Over the past ten years, we have seen everything from that new and aspiring photographer unknowingly stand in front of one of cameras to guests mistaken those outside cameras as our own, causing us to miss precious moments that you- the client, are paying us for!
While it is common for clients to hire a separate wedding photographer and videographer, it's less common for a client to hire two separate photographers or two separate videographers. Due to these past experiences, we will stick to the industry standard on this one- and recommend that we are the only photographers / videographers at your event in order for us to perform our photographic services the best we can.
Need flexibility? Please consult us during the booking process.
Ofcourse, we highly encourage it! Whenever possible we encourage a phone / video consultation for all large events such as weddings or commercial bookings at a minimum, to ensure that we are a right fit for each other. Note that all wedding clients are gifted a FREE ENGAGEMENT SESSION for the purposes of trial and introductions prior to your big day!
We also love meeting up for coffee, and can invite you to our home studio for our more in depth conversations. Ask us about our photographer/videographer availability for these consultations, subject to photographer and videographer availability.
Unless it is advertised as included in a session, all outfits / attire / hair and makeup must be provided by a client. Some sessions (such as our boudoir marathons) may include an on site hair / make-up artist experience in which case is an exception.
We do have a client wardrobe available for some pieces of attire, such as maternity dresses. Consult us at the time of booking for your options.
Additionally, props are not included in a session unless arranged at the time of booking. Due to the nature of shooting in flexible locations, while we do have quite the closet of attire and props available for loan, we do not automatically bring all of them out on site with us. If you need to borrow a proper or outfit, please consult us at the time of booking to check our client wardrobe availability.
The ideal time for a client to book their maternity session is in the last few weeks of pregnancy. Since babies tend to have their own timeline, we suggest anywhere from 26-28 weeks to ensure we are not scheduling too close to your due date for any early birds!
Birth sessions are our most unpredicted sessions! We reserve these sessions well before your due date, and we remain "on call" for your session. Once labor begins, we report for your session.
Newborn sessions are typically scheduled well before birth, but with such provided is flexibility as a birth date can be unpredictable! Once your baby arrives, we finalize an exact date to capture your session within 2-3 weeks of your baby's arrival.
We are digital artists- we cull, color correct, and edit your photos as needed and as applicable. We are even capable of bringing these to the next level with advanced composite editing!
All delivered photographic images are automatically retouched. Advanced editing is available by request and depending on complexity is subject to an additional fee.
Are you a Photographer / Videographer looking for an editor? We are happy to help! Email us at SweetAperture@gmail.com to learn more about our digital services.
Our photographic services include a copyright release that allow you to download, print (anywhere), and share your digital files and media with friends and family. The Copyright belongs to the photographer who creates the images, no directly than an artist who paints a painting. It is not possible for anybody else to sell or obtain copyright of the media.
Commercial licenses are available for clients who require, such as businesses who wish to use photography on their websites or product photography to sell their goods. Commercial licenses are automatically included in commercial category sessions, but a commercial license can be added to a portrait or event category session upon request.
If you are hoping to use your favorite family portrait on that billboard outside of Boston- contact us first! As long as we still have the original file, we can export these to a much higher resolution best fit for something as large as a billboard. :)
Your session includes a print release, which gives you permission to get your photos printed wherever you would like!
We certainly do have recommendations for printers- crazy enough, printing is a whole world of its own! Some places that may be very convenient for you might not have the best print quality- and in no way should printing be a reflection of the original photographs quality. We have seen printers run off prints with a slight blue hue for example- we didn't do that- they did!
For the ultimate convenience however, as you scroll through your Client Gallery with us, you should see a little shopping cart icon on the photos. Feel free to use this icon to access our own internal print store. The prints from our store are through a third party that we HIGHLY recommend, as they print truest to our coloring and aimed quality. Though the prices might be a bit more than your local drugstore, the quality is much higher. On this store, you can find not only prints but canvases, metal and wood prints, and customized gifts!
Albums can be created through our photographer / videographer directly as well!
YES, we are insured. We can provide a certificate of insurance for any event its needed.
We are primarily Canon shooters- though as experienced photography educators we have experience using other brands as well. Stephanie's first three cameras were all Nikon!
Now, we shoot with top of the line professional series Canon Cameras, both DSLR and mirrorless. We also have quite the collection of lenses for the appropriate situations, ranging from wide angle fish eye lenses perfect for astro-photography to telescopic lenses perfect for photographing that first kiss from the back row.
In addition to cameras and lenses, we have quite the collection of on camera and off camera lighting, audio lavs and recorders, and backdrops galore collected over the years.
We also have a client wardrobe and props closet available for any special requests!
